We had a great time last Wednesday grooving to the music of Incendio and taking awesomely hilarious museum themed photos for our Instagram Photo Contest! Out in the Stoner Courtyard, Penn Museum’s Summer Nights concert series struck musical gold once again and we were thrilled to have Incendio (our favorite Latin inspired band from L.A.) back this year for the event.
Plus, our Instagram Photo Contest was a hit! Guests dressed up as gladiators, Egyptian pharaohs and Indiana Jones for a chance to win cool prizes as we snapped pictures and posted evidence of the festivities to twitter. We love that we can use social media and share the fun with our followers in real time!
Not to be foiled by the imminent rain clouds in the distance, we took advantage of every dry second and enjoyed the gardens, music, snacks and games. Even when the rain started to fall and we took to the shelter of the museum, we were able to tour the galleries (certainly a win-win) while we waited for clearer skies.
If you missed out on the fun, fret not! Our P.M. @ Penn Museum Summer Nights concerts are still underway. Next up is the Brazilian musical stylings of Minas August 8, followed by Pequeña Marimba Internacional August 15, the internationally acclaimed rock-fusion band Animus on August 22, and finally the West Philadelphia Orchestra will end the series with a bang on August 29.
