Description | Handbill for the Mumbai Parsi Original Opera Company giving a synopsis of one of their plays, Shararah-i 'Ishq. Most of the text is in Devanagari script in Hindustani, with the name of the play repeated in Urdu in Nastaʿlīq script. It is lithographed in Jaipur, and the intended audience seems to be the citizens of that city (and Princely State), as a panegyric verse extoling Jaipur is at the beginning of the page. |
