Description | Body tapering to flat bottom; neck tulip shaped; two vertical loop handles on body. With bird pattern. Painting in red-white-black Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip (?) and is painted in white, red, and black with a bird design. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1567." |
