Description | Sommerville: Jade. Triumph of Silenus. Eight figures are visible. Silenus is seated on an ass, his favorite means of transport. There is also some Abraxas inscription. A superb specimen. Intaglios and Their Imprints, Case CCC. Vermeule: Light green jade. Intaglio. Triumph of Silenus on ass riding right, attended by satyr and maenads and an Eros bringing up the rear. Star or crescent appears in front. Abraxus (?) Inscription. Neo-Classic. |
