Description | Squat oval-mouthed amphora with two handles and ridge at juncture of neck and shoulder. Fine, pink (5 YR 7/3) clay with a paler surface, with decoration in dusky red to black paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Upper part (mouth, neck and handles) painted solid; wide bands on shoulder and body. Intact, but cracked and chipped. Comments: LM IIIA: 2-IIIB. Dated by the quality of the fabric. |
