Description | small, clay. Three solid cylindrical feet. Similar vessel to 26873 Wide mouthed vessel with a squat body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, no handles, and a tripod base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has an orange slip and two red painted lines. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a burnished finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "829." |
