Description | Huipil of one panel. Blue plain weave cotton. Silk and cotton single faced overlay brocading in green, blue, mauve, red, white and purple. Design elements are strips of geometric shapes, diamonds, zigzags and bars. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 78 epi, two singles, Z twist, indigo cotton. Weft: 26 ppi, two singles, Z twist, indigo cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is single faced using many types of brocading techniques including wrapping. One panel, four selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
