Description | Pottery. Similar to MS 846. Rim chipped. Fabric and technique like MS846. Two lines of impressed rope pattern just above fluted shoulder; under handle pattern overlaps and one end bends stiffly upwards which show that this pattern was actually achieved by impressing a piece of twisted wire into the clay while soft. Painted white decoration: bands on rim; between rows of rope pattern a fine zigzag; cross on floor of base; small swastikas between arms. |
