Alabastron

Yellow clay, decorated red and brown bands, zone of animals. Cream clay, fine texture. No slip added design in brown varying shades from dark to reddish brown, addition of red paint. Foot brown. At base band of short rounded rays. Broad red band is lower/margin. Of frieze at belly composed of 3 coursing hounds reddish brown. Shoulder ridges painted with red or brown narrow bands connected by vertical brown stripes. Lip brown. Rim with short, thin brown lines radiating from edge of lip. Brown band around mouth. 3 horizontal brown stripes on outer surface of handle. Shape: very small, rounded foot. Drop ovoid body with 4 ridges at shoulder. At base of neck, a drip ledge, rounded and narrow. Tall, thick neck with perpendicular lip. Circular rim with small mouth. Single thick strap handle attached at drip ledge.
