Description | red Narrow-necked jar/bottle (aríbalo, aryballos) with an ovate body, hyperboloid neck, flared rim with lugs, 2 strap handles on the body, and a conical (aribaloid) base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a painted geometric design in red, white, and black. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the base. The catalogue number is written in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3125." |
