Description | CBS Register: ram's head in diorite. hole in the neck for fixing on separate body. U.7598a UE VII: Ram's head carved in the round in diorite. Part of the nostrils and mouth missing and all the front of the neck. The eyes were inlaid and in the sockets were found traces of paste eyeballs. A hole 0.015 m. in diameter is bored in the neck for attachment, probably to a pole. This is a companion piece to U.16427 (31-43-173) and to the fragmentary example U.6832 (BM118565) |
