Colored with red and yellow ochre and thin, dark red stripes. Made of mamaki (Pipturus sp. (Kaeppler). Man’s garment (malo). Acquired during the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “’Maro’ (breech cloth or man’s waist belt) of ‘tapa.’” on Peale list. Ka Hana Kapa #382.
