Description | Tomb 2B = Herscher Tomb 802B. Red polished III jug with round spout. Fragmentary. Soft orange clay with gray interior; black inclusions. Bright red slip, little preserved. Pointed base, body not restored; conical neck, round spout, rim not preserved; angular vertical handle from mid-neck to upper body; finger impression at lower handle attachment. Relief decoration (preserved): vertical impressed band at front neckline; small impressions on handle. Cf. 802A.50. |
