Description | Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Modern Gold pendant setting, no loop; ornamental). A scene based on Roman historical sarcophagus type relief. An Amazon type goddess, perhaps Virtus stands in the midst of four men, three of whom are in warrior costume and one of whom leads a horse to right. Neo-Classic, in the decorative tradition of Canova and Thorwaldsen. |
