Description | Woman seated on a rock with many rounded protuberances. Rock rests in turn on a thin, rectangular plaque. Woman's feet are set wide apart and her dress stretched taut between lower legs. One arms seems to pull folds of dress at level just above left knee. Other arm, hand missing, apparently raised jsut above level of right thigh and on same line. Ionic peplos. Melon hairdo with bun high behind. Head looking down toward activity of hands (carding wool?) Traces of white on dress, of red on hair. Reddish brown clay. |
