Description

Two joining rim-sherds from a closed vessel. Fine, light red (2.5YR 6/6) clay with a pink slip, with decoration in red to black paint. Burnished. Band on rim, inside and out. Lobes flanked by curved lines. for a discussion of the motif see Niemeier 1980: 40-41. Shape generally similar to 628 (MS 4637.6).
