Description

Rim-sherd from a cup with a convex profile ("bell cup"). Fine, pink (7.5 YR 7/4) clay with a darker core and a paler surface, with decoration in dark brown paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Interior painted. Band on rim; tortoise-shell ripple, above bands. Comments: MM III-LM IB. Ripple Ware. See The Cretan Collection: vol. I, no. 24.
