Description | Sommerville: Rock Crystal. Portrait of Carlo Borromeo, cut about the close of the fifteenth century, and pure gold mounting is also known to be of 1495 - about the time Columbus discovered America. Interesting specimen of work of that epoch. Intaglios and Their Imprints, Case AAA. Vermeule: Rock crystal. Intaglio. (Gilt pendant setting and impression) Portrait of Carlo Borromeo (1538-1584).
