Description | Pottery; mended and breaks along edge of base. Fabric of medium fine texture, grey at core, outer surface reddish buff. Handmade except for part of base-even marks of wheel begins some 2 cm. above base. Exterior: creamy white slip, design on flaring top: cross-hatched butterflies, 4 on end, 3 parallel to rim; bulb: 2 zones of hatched triangles; on base: 4 zones, cross-hatched triangles, lozenges and butterfly motifs like those on top with same meaningless device added. |
