Description | Wooden mask with a brown face and a movable jaw with red lips and pink gums, mostly toothless except for two widely spaced upper teeth. Real head hair, eyebrows, mustache, and beard. Large holes for eyes. Lower jaw hinged by means of a hide strip, its ends nailed to the inside lower edges of the mask. Forehead, temples, and cheeks have deeply carved wrinkles. Holes at the sides, with string and a strip of rubber to hold the mask in place. A clown mask for the Balinese Topeng dance drama. |
