33rd Annual Chinese New Year Celebration
Gallop into the Chinese New Year to celebrate the Year of the Horse—and learn more about how the Lunar New Year is celebrated throughout Asia—at this annual, daylong extravaganza.
According to the Chinese Zodiac, people born in the year of the horse are energetic, independent, clever, and kind to others. Famous people born in the year of the horse include Gordon Ramsay, Salma Hayek, and Philadelphia native son Kobe Bryant.
Bring the whole family and enjoy a wide variety of music and dance performances, Tai Chi and Shaolin-style Kung Fu demonstrations, calligraphy and tangram workshops, language presentations, children's activities, plus arts and crafts among one of the finest collections of Chinese and Buddhist art in the United States. The day ends with a drum roll, a roar, and the popular Grand Finale Lion Parade. Free with Museum admission. For more information, call 215.898.2680.
Special offer: If you were born in the Year of the Horse (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) and can prove it (or even if you're an expectant mom due in 2014), you can gallop on in for free—when you bring at least one non-Horse paying guest with you!
