Teacher Workshops, typically held on Saturdays from 9am - 3pm, are interactive lecture and craft workshops designed by Museum staff and co-sponsors. Professional Development Days, typcially held during a school day, are tailored by principals or school districts to fulfill specific curriculum needs. Both programs are designed to fulfill Act 48 and New Jersey Professional Development credits. Educator Evenings allow teachers the opportunity to network with fellow educators. Educators browse Penn Museum's current exhibitions and learn how Penn Museum programming can supplement classroom curriculum.
Just in time for the holidays, Penn Museum invites all educators and life-long learners to explore several perspectives on faith from countries including Ethiopia, India, and more. Co-sponsored by Camden County College and the African Studies Center, the Middle East Center, the South Asia Center, and the Center for East Asian Studies of the University of Pennsylvania.
Fulbright Hays GPA Educators, pictured above at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will report on the topic of Ethiopia and religion at the December 5 Teachers’ Workshop. Photographer unknown.
South Asia Center speaker Debanuj Dasgupta, at left, will deliver a talk entitled “In Between Tradition and Modernity: Religion and Progressive social Movement in India” at the December 5 Teachers’ Workshop. Photographer unknown.
