Women in Archaeology
Women in academia have faced a number of issues over the years as they have grown in numbers—including more limited career opportunities, salary inequality, harassment, and difficulty finding the ideal balance between work and life. This symposium focuses on some of the challenges that women have encountered in the field of archaeology, exploring the issue from firsthand accounts of women archaeologists over the past several decades. An evening keynote lecture follows the symposium. Co-sponsored by the Departments of Anthropology, Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, and East Asian Languages and Civilizations. $20 General Admission; $15 Penn Museum members; Free for full-time college students with ID.
