What's an American Doing Here? Reflections on Travel in the Third World

""What's An American Doing Here?"" explores remote places around the world where few American tourists have traveled. Diamond shares his experiences as a voyager to destinations including West Africa, Western China, the Guatemalan jungle and the Silk Road.
Diamond graduated with a master's in education in 1981. He spent his career teaching, directing schools and writing on the topic of education. Diamond is a prize-winning photographer and currently works as a lecturer, consultant and author.
Proceeds from book sales will be donated by Diamond to Doctors without Borders.
All events at the Penn Bookstore are free and open to the public.
