Join us at 1pm opening day (26 September 2009) for the ribbon cutting with the cultural attache Ms. Nihan Bekar, Turkish Consulate General of New York, and celebrate the rest of the day with Turkish Delight, a Penn Museum World Culture Day.

This exhibition highlights the work of the renowned artist and archaeological illustrator Piet de Jong and focuses on an extraordinary series of his drawings of material from the Museum's excavations at the city of King Midas--Gordion in central Turkey. Most of these drawings have never been exhibited before, and His Golden Touch will demonstrate their importance both as tools for the archaeologist as well as works of art.
