Every time a story is repeated, it changes. Tales evolve over time as individuals are exaggerated, diminished, idealized, or vilified. Hear about great legends from the around world as we explore myths of mortals, ranging from Imhotep to Genghis Khan to Scheherazade.

Second Sunday Culture Films Series

Join us for screenings of documentary films from around the world, followed by open discussion. Co-sponsored by the 2015–2016 Penn Humanities Forum on Sex, this year’s series focuses on the theme of gender and the role that gender/identity plays across many cultures.

Unearthed in the Archives

On Fridays, Museum archivists invite you into the Archives to investigate the many interesting and unusual documents being safeguarded there. Explore expedition records, vintage photographs, manuscripts, personal letters, and much more… each week they’ll share something different!

The Curator's Table

Join in the art of great conversation, fueled by food and wine, set in one of the Museum’s majestic galleries. The Curator’s Table provides a private table for up to 12 dinner guests with a Penn Museum Curator of your choice. After a focused tour and cocktail hour, take your seat at the curator’s table for an evening of excitement, intrigue, and inspiration.
