Get Hands-On at Penn Museum!
Great for families and the creative mind in us all, Art and Artifact Workshop participants learn new perspectives about ancient and contemporary cultures through hands-on activities. Activities may include crafts, interactive lectures, touchable artifacts, scavenger hunts, and more.
Workshop fees vary. Museum members receive discounted rates. Most Workshops are drop-in, but pre-registration is recommended.

Sunday, September 12, 2010: Creative Kachina Dolls: Learn the symbolism of kachina dolls, Hopi ceremonial figurines, when you visit Penn Museum's Living in Balance: The Native American Southwest exhibition. Use mixed media to design your own doll and craft a story about what he or she represents.
Admission: Free with Penn Museum admission donation. Pre-registration is suggested, but not required. Drop-in anytime between 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Sunday, October 10, 2010: Buddhist Devotional Dioramas: Be inspired by Penn Museum's collection of Buddhist artifacts. Touch a mini-Buddhist altar from Japan and learn about the objects within it. Then,
create your own Buddhist devotional diorama.
Admission: Free with Penn Museum admission donation. Pre-registration is suggested, but not required. Drop-in anytime between 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
Event Cancellation Policy: Penn Museum Education Department staff reserves the right to cancel events due to poor weather, low registration, or other unforeseen events. Those who pre-register will be notified promptly in the event of a cancellation.
