Director’s Exhibitions Fund

Central to the Penn Museum’s goal of becoming a key destination is an engaging and stimulating exhibitions program. Beginning in 2011 with the landmark exhibition Secrets of the Silk Road, the Museum will present a major traveling exhibition each year, together with several smaller changing exhibitions showcasing world cultures.

The Museum is also embarking on a multi-year plan to reinstall many of its permanent galleries, to offer a fresh presentation of the artifacts in its Collection and the remarkable stories they tell.

Through Destination 2012, friends and family members can support the Museum’s ambitious new exhibitions program with a gift of any size to the Director’s Exhibitions Fund, and may choose to:

  • Provide underwriting for a specific exhibition.
  • Provide annual support over a single or multi-year period, designated by the Director to an upcoming exhibition as needed.
  • Make an outright or planned gift to an endowment fund to provide support for Museum exhibitions in perpetuity. Penn Museum seeks to raise at least $1 million in the Director’s Exhibitions Endowment Fund by June 2012.
