In 2017–2018, the Museum transformed understanding of the human experience for the schoolchildren in our educational workshops, the visitors who explored our galleries, the audiences in our public programs, and the people across the world who accessed our digital collections and resources.
We also began our own transformation. In November 2017, the Penn Museum launched our Building Transformation project and began the construction that will help to reimagine more than two-thirds of our galleries and public spaces. In April 2018, we opened our first new signature galleries of the 21st century, inviting visitors to explore the journey to the city in the Middle East Galleries. Between and beyond these major milestones, we continued the daily activities that make the Museum a place of continual discovery. There’s more transformation to come, and there is always more to discover.
