A hot and humid August day gets a refreshing twist during Penn Museum’s Summer Nights concert series. This time we heard the luscious sounds of musicians: Orlando Haddad and Patricia King. They formed Minas in 1978 at North Carolina School of the Arts and have been traveling both around the U.S and South America ever since. To an untrained ear their lyrics seem to roll off the tongue and transport the mind to a comfortable and soft space. To a trained ear it’s hard to imagine how the pulsing rhythms combine with their lyrics!
The ambiance of the Museum’s garden enriches the listeners’ experience and is a perfecting ending to a work day or day off. As well, there’s an option to buy a beverage (alcohol, please!), food, tour the galleries, and last but not least, listen to some music!
