World adventure awaits—no passport required. Friends and families can explore the Penn Museum for free as part of this year’s Wawa Welcome America festival!

Home to over a million extraordinary objects from across continents and millennia, the Penn Museum brings together archeology and anthropology to help visitors uncover our shared humanity. Discover awe-inspiring stories with interactive digital experiences across galleries dedicated to Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Asia, the Middle East, and Native American Voices. Say hello to the largest Egyptian sphinx in the Western Hemisphere, marvel at Mayan monuments, and connect with vibrant cultures from around the world—right here in Philadelphia.

Know before you go

  • Global Voyagers Tour, 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, Harrison Auditorium
    This 45-minute interactive seated tour is the perfect introduction to the Museum’s collections, highlighting remarkable artifacts with compelling stories. After the presentation, visitors will have historical insights, cultural context, and new archaeological perspectives as they look for the highlighted pieces on display in the galleries.
  • Explore Amazing Artifacts at your own pace with your smart phone and headphones. See a QR code by an artifact? Scan it to open up an incredible world of history!
  • Look for Cartifacts!—touchable replica artifacts available in the galleries.
  • Fun for everyone. Self-guided activities (gallery games, scavenger hunts, and “I SPY” adventures) will be available all day in the Sphinx Gallery or the East Entrance (closest to the parking garage).
  • The Museum Café will be open from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Seating is available in the Café on the Main Level or outside—either in Warden Garden or Mosaic Courtyard.
