Join us on a guided tour of the Abbott Farm National Historic Landmark and the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton. Abbott Farm is one of the most important archaeological sites in New Jersey, with abundant evidence of a long history of occupation by Native American peoples. Abbott Farm also played an important role in the development of the science of archaeology, and was a critical location for investigating the antiquity of man in North America. Objects from Abbott Farm are held in both the Penn Museum and the New Jersey State Museum, and a recent repatriation of human remains from the site provided an important opportunity for archaeologists to work with Lenape descendants to rebury their ancestors in their original homelands. The tour begins at the Penn Museum, and a bus will be provided.
