Penn Museum is delighted to host the Afro Culture Preservation Council’s 40th Kwanzaa Children’s Festival with special guest NAACP /1121 Kierce Production Talent Search.

Celebrate the magic of Kwanzaa with holiday activities for the whole family, including a traditional candle ceremony, stilt ballet performances, games, and food. Admission is free.

Activities include Libation Ancestors Tribute with Ekoye Drum Assemble, Fashion Show, Children’s Dance and Zawadi gifts and games, Gumbo the Clown, performances by the African American Stilt Ballet.

Kwanzaa is a time of learning, family and celebration. During the week of Kwanzaa, families and communities come together to share a feast, to honor the ancestors, affirm the bonds between them, and to celebrate African and African American culture.
