The theme of the 2024-2025 Teacher Talk Series is “Curricular Connections.” We’ll explore how your class subjects interact with the Museum, our Collections, and the professionals that work here.
For many people, thinking of archaeology may conjure images of dry deserts, dense rainforests, or artifacts buried underneath the streets of modern cities. However, many exciting finds and revelations have come from maritime archaeology: the discovery and analysis of artifacts found underwater, often combined with the studies of oceanography and marine biology.
Please join Graduate Guide and maritime archaeologist Chelsea Cohen to learn how maritime archaeology has influenced Penn Museum exhibits, improved our understanding of human history, and even helped us better understand the effects of climate change.
Dinner will be provided, Act 48 Credits and parking vouchers available.
