Take a weekly trip around the world from the comfort of your own home! The Penn Museum's World Wonders morning summer series celebrates the diversity of the world’s cultures through live virtual interactive workshops and activities for school-aged children and their families. Many of our workshops include activities that you can make with us while watching at home. Check the program descriptions for recommended materials so you are ready to make and create with us.

What did the inside of an ancient Egyptian tomb look like? What did people take with them into the afterlife? Learn about hieroglyphs, tomb offerings, and false doors—ancient Egyptian passageways between the worlds of the living and the dead. Create your own false doors by drawing hieroglyphs, ancient Egyptian art motifs, and the things you’d like to take to the afterlife.
*Recommended Materials: Paper, ruler, and writing utensils.
