Ancient Egyptians wrote the name of pharaohs and other royal people in hieroglyphs inside an oval with a horizontal line at one end. This special way of writing the name is called a cartouche (pronounced "car-toosh"). Take a close look at a pharaoh’s cartouche on the great Sphinx in the Museum's Sphinx Gallery, then create your own version of a cartouche with your royal name on display for all to see!

This special presentation is part of the Wawa Welcome America 2020 Festival.
