What makes a museum work? Ever pondered a museum career? Now’s your chance to meet a museum expert who will answer your questions and offer an insider's perspective.

This month learn from Stephanie Mach, Academic Coordinator. Stephanie will discuss the Penn Museum’s paid internship program, which enables students from diverse backgrounds to gain important knowledge and skills and enhance their future careers in the field. She will also explain how she helps University students and faculty access and engage Museum collections for classes and projects. Supported in part by the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration.

Stephanie Mach (Diné) is the Summer Internship Program Coordinator and an Academic Coordinator in the Academic Engagement Department. She also serves as the co-chair of the Penn Museum Diversity Committee. Stephanie draws on her own experiences in the field of archaeology, formative internships at anthropology museums, and nine years at the Penn Museum to organize a nine-week summer internship program for undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates. She has a BA in Archaeology from Boston University and an MA in Museum Studies from New York University. Stephanie is currently pursuing her doctorate in cultural anthropology at Penn.
