Based on the lunar calendar, the Chinese zodiac is a repeating 12-year cycle that uses a different animal sign to represent each year. 2021 is the Year of the Ox, a symbol of patience, balance, and hard work in some cultures. Explore the ancient folklore behind all of the animals in the Chinese zodiac—real and imaginary—and spot zodiac animals depicted on artifacts from our collection!
