Bring along some friends for a fun, musically-inspired class where you make your own sekere, led by expert sekere musician and founder of the Women’s Sekere Ensemble, Omomola Iyabunmi. The sekere is a traditional West African percussion instrument made from a dried gourd with beads woven into a net that covers the gourd. During the class, visit the Museum’s new Africa Galleries to be inspired by the variety of handmade instruments on display.
