Golden age of King Midas

A welcome from Phrygian handmaidens, a feast fit for a king, and a royal celebration of the crossroads of culture—all are in store for guests to this gala evening event and sneak preview of the Penn Museum’s exclusive, world premiere exhibition, The Golden Age of King Midas, featuring ancient treasures on loan from the Republic of Turkey. Honoring longtime Museum supporter Charles K. Williams II, Ph.D., the evening’s event will commemorate the Penn Museum’s 65 years of excavation at one of the world’s most important ancient sites. Proceeds benefit the Penn Museum and its ongoing archaeological research and conservation projects around the world.
