Description

Double spout and bridge. Head of puma or jaguar. Tear bands coming out of eyes.

Double-spouted jug with an effigy-zoomorphic body, tapered neck, rounded rim, 1 bridge handle extending from spout to spout, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The body is shaped like a felid head (jaguar or puma). The vessel is shaped like a jaguar head with two spouts where the ears would be. The vessel is painted with the features of the jaguar over a red painted body and brown painted spouts and handle. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. There are brush marks visible in some areas. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "490."

Globular in form of cat's head, eyes are deep set

Wide mouthed vessel with an effigy-zoomorphic body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, no handles, and a flat base. The vessel is shaped like a head with depressed half circle eyes, a raised nose, and ears. The vessel is painted white with black lines delineating the eyes and mouth. The mouth is also painted red and white. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3199."

Description

Quandrangular piece of black cloth, the edges embroidered with a simple zigzag pattern in red-dyed (goat's) hair. A rectangular patch of red flannel coveres the middle part in the centre of which is a round hole to fit over the hook by which the cage is suspended. Suitable for the type of bird-cage represented by P1398 or P1524. See 29-58-108.
