Description

White steatite; yellow traces of glaze. Flat oval shape. On one surface is a cartouche containing the prenomen of Tuthmosis III (Men-Kheper-Re) between two uraeii; the other surface is decorated with a floral pattern.

Oren: “Description: Plaquette. White steatite with traces of yellow glaze.

Design: One side filled with a floral pattern, four petals of a flower and four scrolls converging to a central disc. In the corners are four decorations each ending with a flower. The other side has in the center a royal cartouche between two uraei erect; the tails of the uraei touch the cartouche, with a solar disc between. The cartouche is inscribed with Aa-kheperw-Ra which is the prenomen of Amenophis II. The body of the snakes is filled with a crisscross design (according to the Rowe, the cartouche is inscribed with “Men-kheper-Re” which is the prenomen of Thuthmose III).”
