Description

Feather. Made on felt cap foundation with leather forehead band inside and tipi pattern beaded band with rosettes, outside. Beadwork not Indian. 30 turkey feathers with stems wrapped with green felt and with down feathers dyed red, yellow, green, and lavendar attached. Cheek pendants of many coloured ribbons, beaded buckskin and down feathers. Said to have been made by an "Indian Princess" and presented to the donor by a "full-blooded Omaha, Chief White Horn," alias Levi Levering
