Description | Deep purple warp faced weave. 2 breadths. Solid brocade in zigzag, triangle and diamond bands, single sided with bands of tapestry technique across chest and back [10.5 cm] of grapes leaves and blossoms. Applique, 2cm band of blue saatin, arm holes and neck. 8 cm rosette front and back. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 64 epi, 3 ply, maroon cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, 3 singles, indigo cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplemental weft - single faced and double faced. 2 panels - 4 selvedge each. Made on backstrap loom." |
