Description | Nearly complete and mended. Advanced piriform shape, cf. _MPL_, Pl. XV:5. Disk top flat. Clay: pinkish buff to buff, well cleaned, hard; slightly lustrous surface. Paint: lustrous orange to mahogany color, crackled. Top of handle and disk decorated like 54-41-66. Ring at base of false neck joining similar ring at spout base. Top of spout painted. In shoulder zone a design resembling parallel chevrons, closed on one side. Wide stripe with narrow reserved rings at edge of shoulder, just below widest part of body and near base, which is painted solid. C504 from OT 30 is almost a duplicate of 54-41-105 |
