Description

fragmentary. iron blade with bone handle, capped and rivited with bronze. 2 pieces of the blade remain, much rusted. to one is still sirmly fixed the lower part of the bone handle, fastened by three rivets, 1.3cm apart. another fragment, from top of handle, has a bronze band 2.7cm wide, around the bone. among the scattered small fragments is another piece from the band, and also a small round piece with a rivet which seems to have been the top of the cap. two loose rivets, and many fragments of bone, suggest that the reconstructed length of the handle was not less than 10.5cm
