Description | Fragment from stupa casing made out of micaceous slate. The top left of the fragment is arched and ends in a scroll. The right scene depicts an old man holding a child on his lap - doubtless the scene of the old hermit Asita holding the child Sakyamuni. The left side shows the Buddha as a newborn taking his first steps. |
