Description | Intact. Bell-shaped, spreading slightly at the bottom. Hole vertically pierced at top, possibly for a clapper. Strap handle arches over hole. Unglazed on the interior. On exterior from top to bottom: glaze band; lotus bud chain upside down; ivy garland; glaze band. Light brown clay; glaze considerably peeled. Gently rounded conical in shape with a vertical loop above. No clapper but a vertical hole in top for attachment. Glaze somewhat fugitive on exterior. Above is a broad glazed band and around lower edge is a second, narrower. On wall are two zones of decoration: lotus bud chain above and ivy garland below. Orange clay. |
