Description | White cotton ground. Two panels joined by randa in silk thread. Brocading in purple, white, yellow, and green silk of animal figures and geometric shapes. Two silk tassels. Some staining. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 92 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 34 ppi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced with an "L" shaped embroidered symbol. Two panels, three selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
