Description | Walrus tusk. 4 ivory knobs pegged into under surface. 4 ivory score pegs kept in hole in base of tusk, the hole closed with ivory stopper. Sailing ship carved in relief on top surface near base of tusk, salmon toward tip; 6 score sections between. Detail etched and darkened. Carved by AN TIB, native of Unalaska. |
